Finest Cabinetry in the Industry
Sun Steam leads the industry with our 'Nano-Carbon' heater technology and our unrivalled cabinetry work. These elegant designs are manufactured from top-grade, hardwood Basswood with care and precision. There are no visible nails, screw heads or fasteners. Rigorous quality control and state of the art machining ensure that our saunas always look great and assemble perfectly.
Basswood vs Hemlock
Basswood is dense, stable hardwood that is a superior building material compared to industry standard, softwood Hemlock. Basswood is loved by carvers because of its strong resistance to cracking or splitting. It is considered one of the most neutral hypo-allergenic woods. Historicallly it has been used for utensils, childrens toys and beehives because of its pure non- toxic, non-leaching properties.

Carbon Heater
Carbon Infrared Heaters
Sun Stream's Nano-Carbon heater panels are positioned to
Focus Infrared
upon your body. Most sauna brands have inexpensive 'Low Watt Density' carbon heaters. Low Watt heaters are easily recognized as they cover much of the inside walls of the sauna and extend up above the sauna user's head. These heaters waste Infrared in unoccupied areas of the sauna and produce low levels of Infrared.
Sun Stream's heaters are superior 'High Watt Density' panels that do not extend above head height but instead are positioned low on the walls to focus Infrared on your Front, Back, Upper and Lower Body.
The carbon in a High Watt Density panel is much hotter than that in a
Low Watt Density panel. The hotter carbon produces a greater intensity of Infrared and the positioning of our panels aims this Infrared at your body.
The quality and performance of carbon panels in the Infrared sauna market varies tremendously.
We advise against designs that use tall narrow heaters and those with low panel surface temperatures
.
If you are able to put you hand on a carbon heater and leave it there, you are in sauna with Low Watt Density heaters and are likely to have a slow sweating experience.
Competitors' 'Low Watt Density' Heaters waste Infrared in unoccupied areas of the sauna
Competitors' Excessive Wood Slats & Ineffective, Tall Narrow Heaters
Sun Stream Saunas feature an 'Open Design' Heater Guard in conjunction with movable back rests. We intentionally minimize the wood slats in front of our heaters so that the Infrared projection is not blocked.
Many sauna brands have excessive wood slats in front of their heaters blocking the Infrared heat.

Nano-Carbon's International Patents
Nano-Carbon
Nano-Carbon Infrared Heaters
There are many claims made and arguments waged between sauna companies regarding heaters' wavelengths, depth of heat absorption etc. Unfortunately, many advertising claims are unsubstantiated and non-scientific. This can be very confusing for the consumer searching for a quality sauna.
Sun Stream's heaters are produced by Golden Wave Saunas using Nano- Carbon material from Japan. The heaters are backed with a Lifetime Warranty and have been used in Infrared therapy products for 10 years. They are patented in numerous countries including Germany and Japan and have been tested by several independent laboratories to verify their Infrared output. Test results have confirmed the Nano-Carbon's high Infrared output and desirable therapeutic frequency range.

Nano-Carbon Explained
Microscopic droplets of carbon are the key to our heaters' high Infrared output.
Nano-sized droplets are uniformly spread across the panel surface. This uniform distribution of carbon is a sophisticated and unique manufacturing process.
The microscopic carbon conducts electricity, heats up quickly and projects an even widespread Infrared heat. The conversion of electricity to radiant heat is incredibly efficient. There is very little thermal energy lost in the process making the panels truly energy efficient. There is a wide range in quality and performance with carbon panel heaters in the sauna market. Sun Stream's Nano-Carbon panels have a higher surface temperature which produce a greater intensity of Infrared providing you with a faster heavier sweat.

How can some Infrared Saunas be so much lower priced than others?
The difference is in the details.
Many sauna brands look alike in the photos on the web and in brochures. Like most things, you tend to get what you pay for.
Sun Stream Infrared Saunas are one of the higher priced brands in the market but for good reason. Our value is in the details such as our superior electrical components. Sun Stream uses top quality electrical components, many of which are manufactured in-house at our factory. We maintain tight quality control over the manufacturing of our Nano-Carbon panel heaters, electronic controllers, circuit boards etc. We use metal plates and housings where other brands often use plastic. All electrical connections are easily accessed in the unlikely case that replacement parts are required. BX shielding covers the main power lines in the sauna to provide EMF protection. Electrical Safety Certification is issued by TUV Rheinland, one of the world's oldest and most rigorous testing organizations. The difference is in the details!
